The Telecommunications and Networking (TCOM) Program at the University of Pennsylvania is a unique professional master's program for both full- and part-time students. Multidisciplinary in nature, this program draws its faculty from the Electrical & Systems Engineering and Computer & Information Science departments in the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS), and from the Wharton School of Business. TCOM students take courses in a variety of other departments in SEAS and Wharton in addition to specially designed TCOM courses. This multidisciplinary approach gives students the flexibility to tailor the curriculum to their specific interests, backgrounds, and career goals.

The MSTM program is a nationally prominent and exemplary center for telecommunications education, research, and outreach. The program is committed to teaching and advancing the art and science of managing telecommunications. Specifically, the MSTM program's mission is to develop professional telecommunications managers capable of making unique contributions to their chosen organizations. To achieve this mission within an environment of constant change, the inclusion and integration of knowledge and methodologies from various academic disciplines are essential.

DePaul CTI takes an innovative approach to Distance Learning by offering each DL course in conjunction with an on-campus section of the same course. Live courses are recorded using CTI's Course OnLine system, then posted online for DL students to view at their convenience. In this way DL courses are generated anew every quarter, keeping the content and examples fresh. Students communicate with faculty and other students via telephone, email, online discussion groups, or online chat. All CTI DL courses are taught by the same distinguished faculty teaching the on-campus courses. The flexibility offered by our DL degree programs makes it possible for many students to pursue a graduate education despite the pressures of work and family obligations. Because requirements are the same in DL and on-campus courses, students are able to take whatever combination of online and on-ground courses that fits their needs.

The graduate certificate consists of courses from both the Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Departments. It is intended for students who hold a baccalaureate degree in science or engineering and who wish to concentrate on hardware/software issues pertaining to telecommunications.

The graduate program in Telecommunications and Network Management (TNM) goes far beyond a typical IT degree. The Telecommunications and Network Management graduate degree offered at the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University has evolved into the premier Telecommunications and Network Management program within the United States. The Telecommunications and Network Management degree is a marriage of technology, policy and management. It is not an engineering or programming degree but gives IT professionals and new industry entrants a broader view of how to apply and use networking technologies to solve business problems.

Addresses an increasingly demanding requirement of the telecommunications industry for technical expertise combined with business skills. Provides an advanced technical knowledge of applied telecommunications integrated with a solid grounding in management. Covers planning, implementation, and management of physical systems that satisfy corporate needs for voice, video, and data communications. Students learn to become management professionals responsible for decisions involving large expenditures for acquisition, installation, maintenance, and management of telecommunications networks and systems.

SUNYIT offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in telecommunications. Students majoring in the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in telecommunications develop a working knowledge of the history and methodologies, as well as an awareness of current issues, policies, advancements, and applications that characterize the field of telecommunications. The M.S. in Telecommunications is the only one of its kind in the State University system; it is designed for recent graduates and working professionals who may not have obtained undergraduate degrees in technical fields, such as engineering, but who wish to gain an in-depth knowledge of telecommunications.

The College of Engineering offers a Master of Science in telecommunications engineering. This graduate program provides advanced education and research to develop breadth of knowledge and depth of expertise in the engineering of telecommunication networks and systems. This University of Nebraska-Lincoln program is offered in Omaha, Nebraska at the Peter Kiewit Institute of Information Science, Technology, and Engineering (PKI); however, students may take some of the courses through the electrical engineering and computer science departments on the Lincoln campus.
