The company started as The Bailey-Billington Partnership back in 1921 with an equal capital share of £50. After a year Noel Bailey senior bought his partner out for £100 and formed a non-limited company, NG Bailey & Co. About this time Noel Bailey engaged five apprentices (aged 14-15). Mr Bailey was, in effect, pioneering what later became the company’s apprenticeship training scheme.
