The Master's Program in Telecommunications at the University of Maryland is designed to provide students with the professional skills needed to advance a successful career in telecommunications. The program combines fresh, innovative, and cutting-edge technical courses with management, regulatory, and public policy instruction—creating a telecommunications professional who is technically savvy, business-minded, and acutely in tune with the policy issues that surround a constantly changing industry. The curriculum was carefully developed with the guidance of telecommunication industry leaders. Since its inception, new state-of-the-art classes have been added each year to keep pace with the technological advancements of the telecommunications industry. Our graduates are currently making their mark at companies like Verizon, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Hughes Network Systems, Texas Instruments, and at government agencies like the Federal Communications Commission and the National Security Agency.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Stony Brook is a top-ranking department with a strong commitment to teaching and research. SUNYIT offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in telecommunications. Students majoring in the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in telecommunications develop a working knowledge of the history and methodologies, as well as an awareness of current issues, policies, advancements, and applications that characterize the field of telecommunications. The M.S. in Telecommunications is the only one of its kind in the State University system; it is designed for recent graduates and working professionals who may not have obtained undergraduate degrees in technical fields, such as engineering, but who wish to gain an in-depth knowledge of telecommunications.

The primary concerns of the Graduate School are graduate instruction and research. The SIUC Graduate School offers master's degrees in over 60 programs and the doctoral degree through 29 programs. Within the colleges and schools are departments whose distinguished faculty offer inspired teaching, conduct innovative research, and facilitate student services from admission to placement.

The College of Engineering offers a Master of Science in telecommunications engineering. This graduate program provides advanced education and research to develop breadth of knowledge and depth of expertise in the engineering of telecommunication networks and systems. This University of Nebraska-Lincoln program is offered in Omaha, Nebraska at the Peter Kiewit Institute of Information Science, Technology, and Engineering (PKI); however, students may take some of the courses through the electrical engineering and computer science departments on the Lincoln campus.

The MS in Telecommunications and Networking degree program will be designed to prepare individuals for careers in the telecommunications industry. It will provide the necessary education of individuals involved with hardware and software providers, service providers, large user organizations and government regulators. It will offer extensive theoretical and practical knowledge in wired and wireless communication networks.
