The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) monitors the electronic communications and postal sectors in Sweden. The term ‘electronic communications’ includes telephony, the Internet and radio. The Agency works with consumer and competition issues, efficient utilisation of resources and secure communications.

The NTC consists of seven members selected from the persons recognized and respected with knowledge, experiences and expertise in telecommunications, education, culture, economics, public laws, security, science and technology.

The mission of the Communication Services Regulatory Agency consists of regulating and controlling the activities referred to Telecommunications (i.e. all transmission or reception of signs, signals, writings, images, sounds or information of any nature, by wires, radioelectricity, optical means and other electromagnetic systems) and Postal Services (i.e. admission, processing, transport and distribution of correspondence made by postal operators).
