Why in wireless networks 'source coding' removes redundancy but 'channel coding' adds redundancy?

Source coding remover redundancy in speech which are not required this is done so that we reduce the bit rate from 64kbps as we cannot afford so much.

In channel coding redundancy is added to the signal survives the detrimental effects of the channel.

The redundancy added by channel coding and that removed by source coding are different and not the same.
