Standard IS-95 network model approaches:
=> a) AC integrated with HLR b) standalone AC

=> All AC communication is via the HLR ("H-interface") => Pros:
=> It's the standard!
HLR handles message routing
=> One AC for many HLRs (b)
=> Cons:
O Carrier limited to HLR vendor (a)
O H-interface not implemented on most HLRs (b)
