1) Interbranch communication is zero.
2) Lots of call features we can use like conferece , voice mail etc. .
3) Compatabilty to old traditional PBX
4) Reliabilty
5) Communication across the world is so cheap using SIP trunks
6) Multimedia services

1. Cost effective.
2. Reduce the space (for example size of legacy switches which occupy space for 2-5 floors is a problem and VOIP take computer size space).
3. Dedicated circuits cost is reduced.
4. Lays good foundation for expansion for IMS or MMS or any new technology.
5. Cost of each call is inexpensive.

The Advantage of VOIP network is, the voice is digitized and added in IP packets and send through IP network. So there is no need for dedicated data path between two end points.
But in TDM or FDM networks at an instance when two endpoints connected there should be a dedicated data path.
we may say lots of advantage of VOIP over TDM.
1)path failure is less.
2)you can pay only for the datatransfer used.
3)More services
4)Reusability of Network resources.
etc.
