It is based on CDMA in which 45MHz spacing is used.

Permissible frequency assignments are on 30 kHz increments.

W/R = 10 log (1.2288 MHz/9600Hz) = 21 dB for the 9600 bps rate set.

IS-95 is a TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association) standard for North American cellular systems based on CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) which are found within North America and Asia. IS-95a is often referred to as cdmaOne™ which is capable of supporting voice and data at 14.4Kbps where as IS-95b is capable of supporting data rates up to 115Kbps.
