I can access Intenet from IBM labtop but I do not see the wireless icon in windows?

In start -> Run Type in control ncpl.cpl, verify the network connections.
Double click on the Connection Icon and click on Properties and see you are using the wireless internet to connect.
MAy be you are using somebody else wireless internet connection.

To hide or display the Wireless Link taskbar icon

1. Open Wireless Link in Control Panel.
2. On the Infrared tab, do one of the following:
* To hide the Wireless Link taskbar icon, clear the Display an icon on the taskbar indicating infrared activity check box. This check box is selected by default.
* To display the Wireless Link taskbar icon, select the Display an icon on the taskbar indicating infrared activity check box.
