1.open the my computer properties
2.then go to autoupdates
3.then turn on automatic update
simple is that.

first you right click on My computer and select the properties and select Automatic Updates tab. and chose Notify me but don't automaticaly download or install them.

(1) In the services console, double-click automatic Updates.
(2) To stop the service temporarily, on the General tab, click stop.
(3) To disable the services, on the General tab, in the start UP type options, click disable.
(4) Click OK

Go to Control Panel.
2.

Click System.
3.

Go to the Automatic Updates tab.
4.

Un-select the "Keep my computer up to date" box.
5.

Click Ok.

BTW, next time you need to open the System applet you can do so much faster: instead of clicking your way to the System icon, you can just right click My Computer and choose Properties, or even better - press the Windows Logo key on your keyboard and then press Pause/Break at the same time.
