A Security Systems Engineer is responsible for implementing components of a system that create or enhance the security posture of that system. The over goal is to activate or improve the security processes on that system. The system can be either a single host or a network of computers. The SSE would be the one configuring the auditing components and confirming that they work. The SSE would help implement the security policies, but is not the author of those policies.
