BTS is a Base Transceiver Station and acting as a bridge between the mobile device and the rest of the Mobile Network. It provides wireless access to the mobile customer the radio channel. BTS is controled by the BSC or MSC. It has several Antennas for transmission and Receiving both on the uplink and the downlink.

BTS is a Base Transceiver Station. Its purpose is to handle the radio interface to the mobile user , radio interface is an air interface using which the mobile subscriber or a mobile user is connected to the BTS and BTS further connects the user to the rest of Mobile network.
BTS comprises of Transceivers, antennas. Transceivers send/receive signals to serve the cell to provide mobile service to thr user. BTS also has a Hardware rack in which multiple cards are installed for various purpose to support the service being provided to the users. BTS itself connected back to the BSC.

Base Transceiver Station (BTS)
The BTS controls the radio interface to the MS. The BTS comprises the
radio equipment such as transceivers and antennas which are needed to
serve each cell in the network. A group of BTSs are controlled by a BSC.

Base Tranceiver Station. Technical term for a mobile phone base station. A BTS contains the transmit and receive technology and also the aerials to supply a radio cell. Several BTSs are administered by a BSC (Base Station Controller), which is in turn under an MSC (Mobile Switching Center).

BTS is Base Tranceiver Station it is basically used for giving coverage of one cell in gsm it is most important.It deals wwith the mobile station it also perform multiplexing and demultiplexing
